August 15th (Wednesday)        Norman North High School at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts      New Substitutes   8:00 A.M.      Returning Substitutes  12:30 P.M.

August 29th (Wednesday)        Norman North High School at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts      New & Returning Substitutes  8:15 A.M.

August 30th (Thursday)      Norman North High School at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts      New & Returning Substitutes  8:15 A.M.

September 19th (Wednesday)      Norman North High School at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts      New & Returning Substitutes  12:15 P.M.

November 8th (Thursday)      Norman North High School at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts      New & Returning Substitutes  8:15 A.M.

January 16th (Wednesday)      Norman North High School at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts      New & Returning Substitutes  8:15 A.M.

February 14th (Thursday)      Norman North High School at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts      New & Returning Substitutes  12:15 P.M.

                           Orientations will last approximately 3.5 hours

                   Orientations will be held at:

New and Returning Substitutes must attend a substitute orientation.

To be a returning substitute you must have been a substitute in the 
Norman Public School District during the 2011-2012 school year.

New Substitutes will need to bring the following:

•  One Document to Establish Identity

               (Driver’s License, School ID Card, Military Card)

•   One Document to Establish Employment Eligibility:

               (Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, US Passport, Native American Tribal Card) 

If you are certified please bring a copy of your Oklahoma Teacher Certificate.

If you have a college degree please bring a copy of your transcripts.

Substitute Pay:

• Non Certified - $55/day

• Certified -  $65/day (To qualify for certified pay you must have a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.)

• Special Facilities - $70/day (Please see list of facilities in Substitute Teacher Handbook.)

• Long Term - $169.47/day  (To qualify for a long term job you need to be certified  in the subject you are teaching and the job needs to be for more than 30 days.) 

• Teacher Assistant  - $55/day (Certified or Non Certified)
